Roborock Q7 M5+

10,000 Pa, LiDAR mapping, and a self-empty dock for the price of a budget bot.

Tested & updated June 12, 2026

The RobotVacMop verdict
Roborock Q7 M5+

The Q7 M5+ is the new value king: hands-free self-emptying, real suction, and the best app in the business for around $250. Keep the floor tidy and it embarrasses machines at twice the price.

  • +Anti-tangle rollers shrugged off long hair in our testing

▼ What we don't

  • No camera obstacle avoidance — it will find your socks
  • Drag-along mop pad is a damp wipe at best
  • Dock empty cycle is loud

01Design & dock

The Q7 M5+ is Roborock's familiar LiDAR-turret puck paired with a self-empty dock the company rates for seven to nine weeks of debris. Successor to the Q5 line, it keeps the no-frills formula — no camera, no mop-washing theatrics — and spends its budget on the two things that matter at this price: suction and the dock.

02Vacuuming performance

With 10,000 Pa on tap — nearly double its predecessor — the Q7 M5+ posted 94% pickup on hard floors and 86% on mid-pile carpet in our lanes, numbers that would have been flagship-tier two years ago. The dual anti-tangle rubber rollers earned their name: a week of long-haired-household duty produced nothing the cleanup tool couldn't clear in seconds. Deep-carpet grit remains the gap to the premium tier; a second pass closes most of it.

03Navigation & app

LiDAR mapping built an accurate plan of our test space in a single run, lights on or off, and cleaning rows stayed tight and methodical. The Roborock app brings per-room suction, no-go zones, multi-level maps, and cleaning history — absurdly complete for the price tier. The omission is camera obstacle avoidance: cables, socks, and pet surprises are your responsibility to clear.

04Who should buy it

This is the robot we now recommend most often to friends. If your floors are reasonably tidy and mopping isn't the mission, the Q7 M5+ delivers the day-to-day experience of a $900 machine for around $250 — and the app means it grows with you rather than boxing you in.
